Time Does Not Play Fair

When you run out of tomorrows,
and your dreams have all been spent.
When the halls and rooms grow quiet,
and the silence will not relent.

When cuddles and giggles have passed,
and Spring walks come to an end.
When all the tests are taken,
and freedom their closest friend.

When all the boxes are packed,
and a bedroom sits vacant and bare.
This is not the time for regret,
because time does not play fair.
