“Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct.”
Galatians 6:4-5 NLT
I don’t see life as a competition. I never have. I’ve tried to live by doing the best I can with what I’ve been given. I’ve failed—sometimes painfully—and I’ve had to pick myself up, learn, and keep going.
Competition, comparison, or the need to be “better than” someone else has never been my motivation. My hope has always been for connection, understanding, and growth—both my own and others’.
Like everyone, I am still learning who I am. That journey has required honesty, humility, and grace. I believe real peace comes when a person feels secure in who they are, no longer measuring themselves against others or allowing anger to distort what has been said or intended.
My prayer is that truth can be heard clearly, without being reshaped by hurt. I pray that each of us can live grounded in God’s love and confident in the value He has already placed on our lives.
There is a kind of freedom that comes when we take responsibility for our own paths—our failures and our successes—and release others from the weight of blame or comparison. For as long as you are blaming others for your failure, you cannot claim responsibility for your successes.
